xNet Ambient® is Digitex Systems’ portable MESH network extender designed to expand the connectivity of xDAS Ambient deployments. Generally, it supports the DigiMESH® protocol, ensuring robust, self‑healing, and highly reliable communication between portable xWave Ambient sensors and xPlorer Ambient acquisition units. Compact, battery‑powered, and easy to configure, the xNet Ambient portable mesh network extender enables the performance of reliable structural health monitoring (SHM) measurements even in large or complex structures where direct sensor connectivity would otherwise be difficult.
xNet Ambient enables seamless network extension in SHM and condition monitoring projects, allowing users to cover wider areas without laying additional cabling. Multiple xNet units can be added to the same MESH, giving engineers flexibility in overcoming physical obstacles, distance limitations, or difficult site conditions. While not mandatory for forming DigiMESH® networks, xNet Ambient units provide stability and redundancy, ensuring that all deployed sensors stay connected to the central xPlorer Ambient. Models with Ethernet support allow hybrid deployments where wired connections extend MESH coverage further, making xNet a versatile bridge between wired and wireless domains.
