Weather Station Gateway

xMet Weather Station Gateway Product Image

xMet® is an advanced weather station gateway designed to integrate professional meteorological sensors into the Digitex Sentry System for comprehensive Structural Health Monitoring (SHM). By capturing and streaming real‑time environmental parameters such as wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, precipitation, and solar radiation, the xMet weather station gateway enables SHM systems to correlate structural responses with surrounding environmental conditions. We built permanent installations in harsh environments. xMet features a rugged IP67 aluminum enclosure, low‑power operation, and versatile communication options. Additionally, it connects via RS‑485 using the Modbus protocol and supports leading Gill Instruments weather stations, including MaxiMet and MetPak. Also, users can deploy one or more xMet units at different locations, all centrally managed through Voyager® software.

xMet acts as a dedicated weather station gateway for connecting weather sensors to the Sentry System. It supports a wide range of Gill Instruments MaxiMet series weather stations (purchased separately), as well as enabling reliable data integration over standard Modbus RS‑485. The system is fully configurable through Voyager software, which provides you with flexibility for deployment across multiple sites within a single SHM or condition monitoring project.

It streams the data in real time or stores locally using optional SD/eMMC storage. Synchronization is handled via GPS or proprietary DigiSync®, ensuring time‑aligned correlation with structural data from xWave, xStrain, xGeo, and xInc units. Advanced Store&Forward® ensures no data is lost during communication outages, while Ethernet, Wi‑Fi, DigiMESH®, or GSM/4G modules provide flexible connectivity options.
